TOPIC: Polyphonic playback of wavefiles

Polyphonic playback of wavefiles 5 years 8 months ago #309

Hello,

I'm searching for a sound shield, which fits my project:
I need to do polyphonic playback of my own sample files.
So the question is:
1. Can I upload sound files on the GinSing. If yes, how much file storage does the GinSing have.
2. Can I poly playback the uploaded sound files. At least 8 Files polyphonic.
3. Can I do a individual volume control parameter for every sound file, which can be live edited?

Hope you understand my questions.
Thanks,
Birk.

Hi Birk, thanks for the questions.

The GinSing shield is a wave syntheses engine, which means it generates sound based only one simple waveforms ( sine, ramp, etc. ) that can be used to modulate one another. A good example of how powerful this is can be seen when the GinSing board generates synthetic speech using the 6 on-board waveform generators in a particular configuration.

As per your project, you would probably do better with a wave shield, such as this:

Adafruit Wave Shield
