TOPIC: what interface pins are used by GinSing?

what interface pins are used by GinSing? 6 years 7 months ago #69

In order to communicate with the Arduino, the GinSing shield requires three lines for serial communication - send, receive, and overflow. The assignments of these lines to the Arduino are selectable via jumper boards on the shield.

When opening GinSing, you make a function call ( GS.begin ) that specifies which pins that you want to use for these lines. On the shield each line has two possible pin assignments depending on the jumper setting. The default factory configuration uses pins 2,3 and 4. The overflow line can be set to either 2 or 10, the send line can be set to either 3 or 11, and the receive line can be set to either 4 or 12.

The jumpers can be set independently. For example, if you have another shield that uses pins 2, 3, and 12, you can set the jumpers to use overflow=10, send=11, and receive=4.
