TOPIC: Missing Phoneme?

Missing Phoneme? 4 years 4 weeks ago #442

Is there a reason why the phoneme _WH is missing? It's not present in GinSingDefs.h or the GinSingVoice.cpp files,as it is is in 15 words from the dictionary.
Can the GingSing library be modified to use _WH?

I think that is not actually a part of the phoneme list as most cases can be handled with the existing 'w' sound since the 'h' is nearly silent. It was not implemented but still may have some vestigial existence in the documentation. Sorry about that.

OK I understand...One more question.
If I string a few inflections before a phoneme (ex.:_BENDUP,_VOLUP,_SPEEDDN, _W ,) do all the inflections act upon the phoneme? Or only the one closest?

These are prefix inflections that are applied to the following single phoneme only.

Sorry, I phrased it wrong.
Would all three inflections before a phoneme (ex.:_BENDUP,_VOLUP,_SPEEDDN, _W ,)act upon that phoneme in this case _W?
Or only one inflection at a time? From the above example _SPEEDDN would be applied and _BENDUP,_VOLUP, would be ignored.

Thanks

Good question - I've never tried it. It should be a pretty simple experiment, perhaps do a PITCHUP, VOLUP, W and then PITCHUP, VOLDN, W to see if you hear a difference in volume...

Stringing a few inflictions together before a phoneme seems to work fine.

I hope that by a few inflictions you mean inflections - perhaps just a Freudian snip. :P

Ahh, definitely a slip up, will have to speak to my brain about this.
Not trying to cause any harm to the phonemes.
